Be sure to hire a photographer that is able to be honest with you about expectations versus reality, for instance you do not want to hire a photographer that say they can capture your getting ready images in 20 minutes. As this usually takes 1 hour to 1.5 hours, a photographer that does not share the limitations of 20 minutes is not communicating with you realistic expectations. This can either indicate a lack of experience, or simply a priority on booking you rather than explaining the process throuroughly.

Good lighting is essential for stunning photographs. If possible, plan your ceremony when the lighting is best, typically in the early morning or late afternoon. This depends specifically on the time of year that your wedding is taking place, ask your photographer, and you can also use this tool to see the best time for natural light to catch the golden hour.
