Maternity Photographer
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.” Dr. Seuss
We love working with moms and families looking to photograph this once in a lifetime opportunity. Don’t delay in booking your maternity photography session, because time waits for no one.
What to Expect From Your Maternity Photographer
Maternity photos are often taken when the pregnancy is visibly noticeable, but movement is not as physically difficult, this is usually around the 28th to 36th week of pregnancy.
Maternity Photoshoot Locations
The location can vary greatly depending on personal preference. It could be in a home setting for a more intimate feel, complete with professional lighting and backdrops, outdoors in a natural setting, or at a meaningful location for the expectant parents.
We find that the most popular location to be outdoors as the beauty of nature enhances the maternal glow. There is also a greater diversity in images we can capture, and you are able to include outside elements, such as family and pets more easily.
Maternity Photographer Tips: Outfits and Styling
The clothing choices for maternity shoots often focus on highlighting the pregnant belly. Flowing dresses, fitted tops, or even partially draped fabrics are common. Some women choose to wear significant pieces, like a wedding dress or family heirloom garments. Hair and makeup are usually done in a way that makes the expectant mother feel most beautiful and comfortable. Some women choose to purchase their dresses, others rent them. We can provide some guidance during our information session.
Maternity Photoshoot Themes and Props
Some shoots have specific themes or incorporate props, such as baby shoes, ultrasound images, or family heirlooms. This can add a personal and creative touch to the photos.
Maternity Poses
The photographer will guide the expectant mother into poses that are flattering and comfortable.
Partners and other family members, like older siblings, can also be included in the photos to capture the family dynamic.
Maternity Photoshoot Mood and Tone
The overall mood can range from joyful and playful to serene and contemplative, depending on the personality and preferences of the parents-to-be. We work to capture the unique emotional resonance of this time.

You needn’t be concerned about us attending your event, your event is our top priority as this is our business. We will be there for your event. We have these policies in place for both our safety and because we do not want to harm our relationship with our customers by being put in a place of needing to chase clients for past due payments. When you book us we rely on you as much as you rely on us.
If payments are not made on time we reserve the right to cancel your booking and relist the availability. Any payments made until that point in time will be forfeited for having saved your date in the interim. This is because once we hold your date, we turn down business. Even a 1 hour event results in blocking off as much as 5 to 6 hours of availability as we must allow for travel time between locations as well as buffer time.
If there is extreme weather, we will allow rescheduling of your outdoor photography session (not applicable to events), however this means that it is actively raining during that specific time slot, and this rescheduling is initiated by the photographer the day of the event or the day before the event. You can always reach out directly to us if you are concerned about impending weather.
If the unthinkable happens and you have no choice but to cancel, we will offer you a discount during rebooking, however you would have to rebook your session and we would not refund your prior commitment. We understand this is a gray area, but just understand our goal is to take the best possible pictures, however we are not able to reschedule without incurring cost, which is why any payments made are nonrefundable, non transferable, not redeemable for credit, even for event cancelation.
There are travel calculators you can use, located below the packages to determine travel fees. Keep in mind that any travel fees are calculated post booking and invoiced separately. If you have not already determined potential travel charges, please double check the travel calculator on this page with your exact location address for any travel charges. If the values do not appear to be reasonable, please reach out for a custom quote here on our contact page. The travel charges are designed for locations within a specific radius, and as the distance increases it does not take into account mounting travel costs. We also need a method to prevent accidental bookings in locations that would require overnight travel, and therefore need to account for unexpected travel charges to distant locations if booked online. We will not charge exorbitant travel charges, so don’t let that keep you from booking your photography session.

This travel charge is specific to reasonably close destinations, for destinations that are a considerable distance please reach out for a unique quote here.
No travel charges within your package’s allotted miles from the house Taylor Swift Grew up in (Don’t ask us why), click here to view the exact Google Maps Point .
Calculating travel charges are easy,
We use the shortest distance provided by Google Maps
We look at the one way from Taylor’s Childhood Home to the location of the In Home Photoshoot.
We take that number, let’s say its 85 miles, and we subtract 75 from it if the package allotment is 75 miles.
We charge $5 per additional mile.
You are invoiced a separate travel charge. In our example it would be an additional $50. We do this to help cover the cost of travel, tolls, and extra time spent on the road for the entirety of the drive.
If the value comes back preposterous, just reach out here, and we’ll give you a custom quote. For example if you’re in Miami Florida this comes out to $5,000+. If you want to consider it a tip we won’t say no!

If there is an error in displaying the correct value based on the calculation method described, we reserve the right to cancel the order. We may also update our pricing prior to online website publishing, for our most current prices, packages, and offering please reach out directly.

Capturing the Magic: What to Expect During Your Maternity Photoshoot
The joy and anticipation of pregnancy are truly magical moments in a woman's life. As your bump grows and your due date approaches, capturing the beauty of this unique time through a maternity photoshoot is a popular choice for many expectant mothers. However, if you're new to the experience, you may have questions about what to expect. Fear not! We're here to guide you through the process and answer some frequently asked questions about maternity photoshoots.
Finding the Perfect Photographer
The first step in planning your maternity photoshoot is finding the right photographer. Start by researching local photographers who specialize in maternity photography. Look for their portfolio online to get a sense of their style and whether it aligns with your vision. If you don’t quite see what you were envisioning, we recommend that you speak with the photographer directly, as they may have more samples showcasing that style or preference or they can collaborate with you on achieving that look. Once you narrow down your choices, speaking with them directly will help you decide if you have a good rapport.
Timing is Everything
Maternity photoshoots are typically scheduled between the 28th and 36th week of pregnancy. This timeframe allows for a round belly while ensuring you're still comfortable enough to move around and pose comfortably. That doesn’t mean that you can’t do it sooner or later, but that is the optimal time. Before finalizing the date, discuss any concerns or scheduling conflicts with your photographer to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. You’re better off doing it sooner, rather than later, as you can imagine what can happen if you wait too long!
Choosing a Location
When it comes to maternity photoshoots, there are two main options for location: studio or outdoors. Studio photoshoots provide a controlled environment with various backdrops and lighting options. Some photographers can photograph in home, or can travel to your home to photograph you. This can be beneficial as you will be more comfortable, it will be easier to include your family or kids, and if the weather isn’t the warmest, you can photograph in your home. On the other hand, outdoor photoshoots offer the opportunity to incorporate scenic landscapes and natural light into the pictures. Ultimately, the choice depends on your personal preference and the style you want to achieve. Feel free to discuss ideas with your photographer and let them guide you towards the best possible location. Some photographers even allow for photographing the birth, and can meet you at the hospital during this important moment. If ever in doubt reach out to discuss it with the photography company of your choice.
Wardrobe and Styling
Pregnancy is a beautiful time to celebrate your changing body, and your wardrobe can play a significant role in capturing that beauty. Many expectant mothers opt for form-fitting outfits that accentuate their baby bump, such as flowy dresses or fitted tops. If you're unsure about what to wear, don't hesitate to ask your photographer for suggestions or bring a few options to the shoot and let their expertise guide you towards the best choice. Photographers may also be familiar with attire purchase options, or rental options.
Posing and Photography Techniques
On the day of the shoot, your photographer will guide you through various poses and techniques to capture your pregnancy glow. Don't worry if you're not a professional model – your photographer is experienced in capturing the best angles and moments. They will ensure you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the session, allowing your natural beauty to shine through.
Including your Loved Ones
Many maternity photoshoots also offer the opportunity to involve your partner and other children. This can be a wonderful way to include your family in documenting this special time in your life. Discuss with your photographer the option of incorporating loved ones into the photoshoot and plan accordingly to ensure everyone is prepared and excited. Just keep in mind that if you wish to include family, especially little ones, you will likely need a longer booking time so that it allows for the time needed to capture everyone looking at the camera and standing mostly still.
Cherish the Memories
Once the photoshoot is over, the excitement continues as you wait to see the final result. Your maternity photographer will provide you with a selection of edited images, showcasing the beauty and joy of your pregnancy. These photos will become precious memories to cherish for a lifetime, a testament to the love and anticipation you felt as you prepared to welcome your little one into the world. The print wll be high quality, and can be printed large enough to be the size of a billboard, or maybe just big enough to place in your new nursery. You can use outside vendors, or you can use our high quality print options including canvas, metal, and much much more.
A maternity photoshoot is an incredible opportunity to capture the radiant beauty of pregnancy and create lasting memories. By finding the perfect photographer, choosing the right location, wardrobe, and poses, and involving your loved ones, you can ensure a successful and enjoyable experience. Embrace the magic of pregnancy, and let your maternity photoshoot be a celebration of this incredible moment in your life.
Different Poses to try During Your Maternity Photoshoot
Are you an expecting mother eagerly awaiting the arrival of your little bundle of joy? Then, it's time to celebrate this beautiful journey by capturing the essence of your pregnancy through stunning maternity photographs. One key factor in ensuring that your maternity photoshoot turns out flawless is the choice of poses. In this article, we'll explore different poses that you can try during your maternity photoshoot, with the help of a talented maternity photographer.
1. The Classic Bump Embrace
Embracing your baby bump is a pose that never goes out of style. It beautifully showcases the love and connection between you and your unborn child. For this pose, stand with one hand gently resting on your belly, while the other arm wraps around your back or touches your chest. This pose exudes tenderness and warmth, capturing the magical bond you share with your little one.
2. The Goddess Pose
Make your maternity photoshoot truly awe-inspiring by channeling your inner goddess. This pose involves standing tall, with one leg slightly in front of the other and your body turned at a slight angle. Place your hands on your hips, accentuating your curves and radiating confidence. This elegant and empowering pose will make you feel like the queen of motherhood.
3. The Dreamy Silhouette
If you're looking for a touch of enchantment, the silhouette pose is perfect for you. This pose involves standing in front of a well-lit background, preferably with soft natural light streaming in. As you face sideways, your maternity photographer will capture your silhouette, showcasing the magnificent shape of your baby bump against the light. The resulting photograph will have an ethereal and dreamy quality that will truly mesmerize.
4. The Nestled Shot
Capture the coziness and intimacy of pregnancy with the nestled pose. Sit or lie comfortably in a serene setting, such as a cozy sofa or a bed adorned with soft pillows and throws. Gently cradle your baby bump with your hands or invite your partner to join in this tender moment. This pose creates a tranquil atmosphere, highlighting the peace and anticipation felt during this special time in your life.
5. The Joyful Dance
Celebrate the joy and excitement of motherhood with a playful and dynamic pose. Be it spinning around, jumping in the air, or twirling a ribbon, let your inner child shine through. Allow your maternity photographer to capture the sheer happiness and exuberance that comes with bringing a new life into the world. This pose captures the pure radiance and vitality that pregnancy brings.
Remember, the key to capturing stunning maternity photographs lies not only in the poses but also in the connection you share with your maternity photographer. Choose a professional who specializes in maternity photography and understands your vision. They will guide and direct you through the poses, helping you feel comfortable and confident throughout the photo session.
So, embrace your pregnancy glow, unleash your creativity, and let the magic unfold. By trying these different poses, you'll have a collection of timeless photographs that truly reflect the joy, love, and anticipation of this beautiful phase in your life.

The Perfect Blend: Why an Experienced Wedding and Event Photographer is ideal for Maternity Photography
When it comes to capturing the beauty and essence of motherhood, finding the perfect photographer is of utmost importance. Maternity photography is a delicate art that requires someone who understands the nuances, emotions, and subtleties of this magical period in a woman's life. Interestingly, the best candidate for this role may not always fit the conventional mold of a dedicated maternity photographer. Instead, an experienced wedding and event photographer who also excels in portraits can often be the perfect choice, especially if they can take their experience from other forms of photography, and apply it to maternity photographs. A photographer can be specialized in several forms of photography, as they often compliment each other. Let's explore why this unique blend of skills makes for an exceptional maternity photographer.
Adept with Emotion
Wedding and event photographers are well-versed in capturing powerful and fleeting emotions. They have mastered the art of anticipating and immortalizing the most heartfelt moments. Likewise, maternity photography relies heavily on capturing the joy, love, and anticipation that radiate from expecting parents. An experienced wedding and event photographer possesses the sensitivity and understanding to create a comfortable environment, allowing expectant mothers and fathers to naturally express their emotions. Their ability to connect with their subjects and make them feel at ease ensures that each image is imbued with authentic emotions.
Master of Timing
Timing is everything in both wedding photography and maternity photography. Weddings are filled with split-second moments that can't be reenacted, and an experienced wedding photographer has an innate ability to anticipate and capture these moments seamlessly. Similarly, during maternity sessions, there are fleeting moments when the perfect shot arises - a loving glance, a tender touch, or a shared laughter between the expecting couple. A seasoned wedding and event photographer understands the significance of these moments and ensures they are never missed.
Versatility in Composition and Style
Wedding photographers are known for their versatility in capturing various lighting conditions, unique backgrounds, and diverse wedding themes. They have mastered the art of adaptability and can seamlessly transition between different settings and styles. This skillset translates beautifully to maternity photography, where each mother-to-be has her own vision and style. An experienced wedding and event photographer has the ability to adapt to the expectant couple's preferences, transforming their ideas into stunning imagery. Whether it's an outdoor location, a cozy indoor backdrop, or a combination of both, their expertise opens up a world of possibilities for capturing beautiful and personalized maternity portraits.
Attention to Detail
Wedding photographers are renowned for their meticulous attention to detail. From capturing intricate bridal jewelry to ensuring every element in the frame is perfectly aligned, they understand that the smallest details often make the biggest impact. This same attention to detail is crucial when photographing expectant mothers, who meticulously plan their maternity shoots, considering every element from their attire to the props used. An experienced wedding and event photographer is attuned to these details, ensuring that every shot encapsulates the beauty and essence of this special time.
While dedicated maternity photographers undoubtedly bring their unique expertise to the table, considering an experienced wedding and event photographer with a knack for portrait photography for your maternity shoot can be an excellent decision if they also have an affinity towards maternity photoshoots. Their ability to capture emotions, master timing, adapt to various styles and settings, and pay attention to minute details ensures that expectant parents receive a wide range of stunning images that genuinely reflect their journey into parenthood. So, as you embark on this beautiful chapter in your life, consider the perfect blend of skills that an experienced wedding and event photographer possesses to become your best maternity photographer.
